Public Speaking Website- This website contains five modules that
you can use along with your textbook to learn about the process of
public speaking and to help you prepare your speeches.

Around- To correctly identify the clown being described by
eliminating all the others.

Know You- Students interview classmates and then introduce their
partner to the class. Discuss and note the differences between direct
and indirect quotations.

The whole class may take part, or the interviews could be conducted in
small groups.

Role-play the parts of tour guides at Yellowstone National Park in
order to prepare a brief commentary and present it to the class.
- Parts
of Speech Review- Students need to know how to correctly use words
in their writing and speaking. By reviewing parts of speech with
hands-on activities, children will retain and enjoy studying sentence
structure.
- Persuasive
Argument- Each group member is given an argument and presents it to
group members to discuss and generate ideas for persuasion. Students
then independently write argument, defending their position.

Speaking- The student will develop a persuasive argument concerning
a serious social, political, or ethical issue that effects our world.

News- This activity can be used for several purposes. It can be
used to improve writing skills, speaking, questioning skills, and help
to build self esteem. No special conditions are required.

Non-Sense- This game, called "Speaking Non-Sense," is a great way
to get kids' bad speaking habits out of the way, and good ones in!

- Teacher
Travel Agency- Students will pretend they have just been hired by
the Teacher Travel Agency as a travel agent. It is their job to present
a 3-5 minute speech on a specific country to their clients (the rest of
the class and the teacher).

business speeches in order to determine their effectiveness.

Say?- Determine and narrow the topic of a speech in order to define
its purpose.
